God has given us grace for every situation! To the extent that we worry when bad things happen is the extent that we do not believe God. I had to reexamine my own faith as I saw myself reacting poorly when things went wrong. I would yell, get angry, get miserable, and speak negative when my plans went astray. The bible is full of God’s redemption of impossible situations. God has been speaking to us that though plans may fade and die as situations change; faith never dies. Faith comes by hearing God’s word and God say that “My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.” (Is 55:11). God’s word is eternal. “God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good? Behold, I have received a command to bless; He has blessed, and I cannot reverse it.” (Nu 23:19,20) Elisha had been promised that if he saw Elijah go up he would have a double portion of his spirit (that he would do double the miracles that Elijah did. Elijah raised one person from the dead during his ministry,(a widow’s son) and Elisha also raised one from the dead and then he died. To all intense and purposes it would seem that Elisha’s ministry died with him but God’s word is not restricted to this realm or stymied by adverse circumstances such as death. “Elisha died, and they buried him. And the raiding bands from Moab invaded the land in the spring of the year. So it was, as they were burying a man, that suddenly they spied a band of raiders; and they put the man in the tomb of Elisha; and when the man was let down and touched the bones of Elisha, he revived and stood on his feet.” (2Kings 13:20,21). Death did not stop God’s promise to Elisha from coming to pass and neither will the seeming death of any circumstance in your life stop the promises you have from coming to pass. Jesus prophesied that Peter would fail and deny Him but He also said, “I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren.” (Luke 22:32). We may fail but we are only defeated if our faith fails. Trust Jesus, He is interceding for us and His prayers are always answered. Love Ken & Jeanne
